Sliding my foot in... yep, classic AJ1 break-in period ahead. It's a bit narrow. The "big" advantage of the Air Jordan 1 Mid over the High? Easier to get on and off. For $118, it's a fantastic lifestyle shoe. If you need ankle support for hooping, get a different model. Who might want to skip it? If you're purely in it for top-tier, buttery materials – you might be disappointed. If you need plush, modern basketball shoe comfort – look elsewhere. Also, if the "Mid" height just doesn't do it for you aesthetically compared to the Highs, then follow your taste. Don't buy a shoe you don't love the look of. Compared to the Air Jordan 1 High, the "Jordan 1 Mid" is obviously shorter at the ankle. For some, that's a plus for easier styling and less break-in. For pure aesthetic? I still love the High's profile, but this Mid is way more accessible and often at a better price, like this $125 pair. Who should "maybe" skip it? Hardcore performance "basketball" players - this is NOT a modern hoop shoe. Also, if you "exclusively" collect OG High-top silhouettes & see the "Mid" as "not the real thing"? You won't be satisfied. And if "ultra-soft", cloud-like comfort is your #1 priority? You might find the feel a bit "dated".
