Seriously, the "Air Jordan 1" is a legend. This 'Laser Blue' version adds a nice, modern twist without losing that classic soul. The construction feels durable, & I expect them to hold up well. However, the "con" is the break-in period. The heel & ankle collar can be stiff initially – "ouch" – so you gotta wear them in. Not the most comfortable shoe straight out of the box, that's for sure. So I copped this Air Jordan 1 Mid with the altered "Satin" swoosh. The presentation is cool! In hand, the materials are a mix – some standard leather, some interesting accents. On foot, it performs like any other Mid: good for the price (~$120 USD). The unique design elements are what you're paying for here. It's a fun twist for someone who already has a few core AJ1s and wants something different. As a first or only Jordan 1? I'd probably point you towards a more classic color-blocking for maximum versatility. On foot in natural light, this 'Sail' colorway looks incredible. The off-white leather ages beautifully. The Nike Air Jordan 1 has this magical ability to look good both brand new and beat up. It's a chameleon. Compared to the bulky designs of today, its profile is just perfect. A timeless staple in any rotation, no doubt. Just got these in the 'Shadow' colorway. IMO, this is the perfect "first" "Jordan 1" for anyone. Why? The grey/black leather is super versatile and hides wear & tear well. The $180 price tag is standard, but the value is in its timelessness. Downsides? Again, it's stiff initially. But break it in, and it molds to your foot. A wardrobe essential, for real.
