The unique design elements are what you're paying for here. It's a fun twist for someone who already has a few core AJ1s and wants something different. As a first or only Jordan 1? I'd probably point you towards a more classic color-blocking for maximum versatility. Let's talk about the elephant in the room: comfort. The OG "Nike Air Jordan 1" isn't a modern performance shoe. After a few hours, my feet did feel it. The advantage, though? That ankle support is legit, and the flat base is great for casual wear. At ~$180, you're buying the look & the legacy. It’s a fair trade-off if you value design over max comfort. First impression on foot? That iconic crease along the toe box—it's gonna happen, and fast. Embrace it. It's part of the Jordan 1's character. The fit is true to size for me, with a snug wrap. It's not a heavy shoe, which is nice. You feel connected to the ground. It's a "raw" basketball shoe feel, just like the '80s. Checking out the details - the stitching on this pair is clean, & the leather tumbled nicely. You can feel the difference from some of the recent retro releases. For the Jordan series, the AJ1 High OG is the gold standard. Is it worth the price? If you appreciate the design and story, absolutely. If you just want a comfy sneaker? Probably not.
