Those hard plastic parts "can" rub if you're not wearing the right socks. It's not the most comfortable Jordan out of the box compared to, say, a Jordan 13. So, if you want immediate cloud-like comfort, maybe look elsewhere. Now, the not-so-great parts. The break-in period is real – that ankle area can rub. Also, the outsole is flat, so traction on super-slick courts might be iffy. If you want ultimate comfort or performance tech, look elsewhere. This is a lifestyle/retro shoe first. Just keeping it 100% real with you guys. Putting these Air Jordan 4s on... the fit is true to size for me. The lockdown around the midfoot is good, thanks to those plastic wing eyelets. They're not the lightest shoe, you definitely feel the structure, but it's a comfortable, supportive feel. The air unit in the heel? You can feel it, but it's more about stability than crazy cushioning. Putting these on... the fit is true to size for me. The Air Jordan 4 cushioning is firm but comfortable – it's not super plush like modern runners, but you get that nice, stable ride. The lockdown around the midfoot is great thanks to those iconic wings. Honestly, a very wearable sneaker right out of the box.
