Nike air jordan 4 : Comparing this 'Military Blue' Air Jordan 4 to, say, a Jordan 1? It's a totally different animal [wt4ifpm2]
The 4 offers more structure and that unique, bulky-yet-sleek look. Versus a Jordan 3, the 4 is less rounded and has those iconic plastic wing eyelets and mesh panels. I think the Jordan 4 has a more technical, "futuristic" (for its time) vibe. It stands out in the Jordan line for sure. Putting these on... the fit is true to size for me. The Air unit in the heel gives a nice, familiar cushioning. It's not the most plush Jordan ever, but it's comfortable for all-day wear. The upper is supportive without being restrictive. For a retro, the Air Jordan 4 still delivers a reliable on-foot feel. On feet, walking around? The "Nike Air Jordan 4" has a distinct, slightly stiff feel at first. The Air unit in the heel is there, but it's more about impact protection than bounce. The shoe isn't heavy, but you feel its presence. Break-in is real with these; they'll get more comfortable with wear, I can already tell. Comparing it to other Jordans? The Air Jordan 4 sits differently than, say, an AJ1. It's bulkier, has more of a mid-top feel. Versus an AJ3, the toebox is a bit roomier. I'd say the 4 is one of the more comfortable early Jordan models, but again, it's that retro firmness. It's a distinct silhouette in the Jordan series, no doubt.
